About this Mod
Bandit NPC Mod Overview
This Forge 1.20.1 modification transforms vanilla village raids by replacing standard Pillagers with highly adaptive Bandit and Mounted Bandit factions. These custom entities integrate seamlessly into existing raid mechanics while introducing a lethal, diverse arsenal of ranged and melee weaponry.
Custom AI and Faction Behavior
- Dynamic Weapon Reassessment: Bandits constantly analyze their equipped item and instantly switch between custom melee routines and precise line-of-sight ranged behaviors.
- Tactical Truces: During active village raids, bandits focus entirely on players, villagers, and Iron Golems while maintaining strict peace agreements with zombies, skeletons, and creepers.
- Post-Raid Aggression: Once a village raid concludes, the bandits' tactical truce dissolves, causing them to immediately turn hostile and attack general undead and monster variations in the area.
- Breaching Capabilities: Ground-based bandits navigate environments aggressively with built-in pathfinding privileges that allow them to open and pass through closed wooden doors.
Weapon Arsenal
Ranged Weapons
- Shotgun: Fires a devastating burst of twelve high-knockback shrapnel bullets spread across a wide horizontal cone.
- Revolver: Delivers near-perfect laser accuracy at long ranges with immense individual bullet stopping power.
- Cryo Blaster: Shoots specialized freeze ammunition that inflicts severe slowness, weakness, and direct freezing damage over a broad area.
Melee Weapons
- Chainsaw: Bypasses target invulnerability ticks to deliver non-stop, continuous shredding damage to anything caught within its close-quarters range.
- Sledgehammer: A slow, heavy Diamond-tier weapon that inflicts mining fatigue, intense slowness, and high knockback with simulated explosion shockwaves.
- Stun Baton: Shocks enemies upon a successful melee impact, locking them down with a potent 4-second Slowness III effect.
- Wrench: Serves as a blunt melee weapon that inflicts localized blindness and nausea while maintaining the utility to repair damaged Iron Golems.
- Katana & Knives: High-tier bladed weapons utilizing custom blood and critical strike particles to maximize standard close-quarters damage output.
