About this Mod

This is a small pack that aims to remove some repetitive enchantments (eg: flame, and fire aspect). I have included a small list of what enchantments were removed/repurposed below:

  • Fire aspect
    • Fire Aspect now works on bows serving the same purpose as the flame enchantment
    • It also works on pickaxes making it smelt loot from mining
  • Fortune
    • The looting enchantment has been removed and replaced with fortune
    • The same is for luck of the sea.
  • Multishot
    • Multishot now works on bows
    • It is mutualy exclusive with Fire Aspect
  • Knockback
    • Punch has been replaced with knockback
  • Wind burst
    • Wind burst can now be put on bows and crossbows
  • Thorns
    • Thorns can now be put on wolf armor and horse armor
  • Frost walker
    • Frost walker can now also be put on wolf armor and horse armor
  • Protection
    • Protection can be put on horse armor
  • Smite
    • Smite does extra damage to arthropods

How to Install Beta's Better Enchantments on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).

Set datapack Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the datapack loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.7).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Beta's Better Enchantments". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Beta's Better Enchantments server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong datapack version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.7). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
