About this Mod
Overview
With this mod, players are capable of taking damage from falling into fluids. They may also take extra damage by landing in water while in a crawling position, triggering the namesake of the mod. Faire un plat, if you will.
Originally this mod was only meant to include the belly flopping mechanic (as a fairly silly roleplaying choice), and generic surface tension damage was a nice little afterthought. Credit to Surface Tension for doing fluid-based fall damage first!
If a player wants to actually take damage via belly flopping, it is recommended that they install a mod like Personality in order to assume a horizontal crawling/swimming pose before hitting the water. This also triggers a loud and unpleasant SMACK sound on impact. So immersive!
Hidden Advancement
Taking massive belly flop damage (5+ hearts) while holding an axe in both hands grants the "Viking Mode" advancement.
Config
You can alter the following:
- The damage multiplier for falling into fluids
- Set to 0.7 by default. Makes MLG bucket saves only slightly more forgiving than solid blocks
- The damage multiplier for falling into fluids while in a crawling pose (belly flop!)
- Set to 1.5 by default. It takes commitment to take damage in this fashion, and I respect that
- Whether the rules of surface tension only affect players (default: false)
Some mobs are naturally unaffected by surface tension, such as any mob that extends WaterAnimal (which should include fish and some other waterborne mobs). If there are any other mobs you would like to include in that immunity, feel free to include them in the tag belly_flop:unaffected_by_surface_tension. By default, this tag only includes the drowned.
Requires Blueprint 6.2.0+. I recommend installing Personality to experience everything that this mod has to offer.
