NameProtect
NameProtect is a client-side Minecraft mod that changes your displayed name.
It's useful for avoiding stream sniping, protecting your identity, or hiding alt accounts.

Commands
All commands are client-side and do not require server support.
New Commands
/nameprotect mode <off|everyone|self>
Sets the protection mode:off– disables name protectioneveryone– replaces your name for all players including yourselfself– replaces only your own view of your name
/nameprotect change <new name>
Changes your name to the specified value.
Legacy Commands (deprecated)
/nameprotect toggle <on|off>
Enables or disables name protection manually./nameprotect change <name>
Old version of the change command.
Note: This mod only affects what you see client-side. Other players will still see your real username unless you use alt accounts or spoofers.

How to Install Better Nameprotect on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.11).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Better Nameprotect". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Better Nameprotect server crashes on startup – what to do?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Better Nameprotect consumes the most tick time.
