About this Mod

“Biomorphosis” is a modification about a collective mind and its invasion into the classic world.
The Swarm grows and evolves, becoming more dangerous with each passing day.
You may try to restrain it — or perhaps even destroy it.
But sometimes the only way to defeat an approaching nightmare... is to lead it.
Why is it here? What does this collective consciousness seek?
Uncover all the secrets of an unstoppable mind — or create your own.
Evolve by modifying not only your body, but your mind as well!
Will you defend your world, or join the Swarm and rise as its leader?
What’s new?
- Nearly a dozen new units with their own natural habitats.
- A new location type: the “Insect Village” surrounded by a small unique biome.
- New blocks, new items, new resources, new machinery.
- A fluid-transfer system that powers and strengthens your base.
Coming in the future:
- Interactive ways to communicate and influence the Swarm.
- Even more unique entities.
- Smart-home-style automation for your hideout.
- Character modification with unique enhancements replacing standard armor.
- Underground locations with procedurally generated architecture.
- Even deeper integration with the Swarm: dominate species, expand your influence, conquer the land.
Gameplay Design — Goals
- Break away from the concept of mods that end once you reach an objective. This is your journey - meant to be enjoyed at your own pace.
- Balanced gameplay without forcing players into unnecessary grind.
- A truly atmospheric and dynamic experience.
- The ability to adapt to circumstances rather than follow a single progression path.
- Compatibility with other mods. We aim to avoid conflicts, and some mods — such as JEI or Jade — are supported by default.
The modification is currently in an early stage of development. A demonstrational working build is available, showcasing not only what has already been implemented, but also the broad potential for future ideas. As the mod grows, it will continue to receive updates.
You can find the full patch notes on the mod’s GitHub page.

Q: Where can I get information about updates?
A: You can always check the Discord channel, where fresh development details are posted regularly.
Q: Can I suggest an idea or a fix?
A: Absolutely! In the same Discord channel, we’re open to all your ideas and suggestions.
Q: What about republishing?
A: It’s allowed, but please make sure to include a link to the Modrinth page.
Q: Fabric version?
A: No, but you’re free to port the modification to Fabric yourself.
Q: Will there be a backport to 1.20.1?
A: No. Too many internal systems would need to be reworked for that.
Q: Can I help with development?
A: Of course! The code is available on GitHub, and we appreciate any contributions.
If you’d like to add your own content, please contact us on Discord first.
Q: Does world generation change?
A: Yes. Fully generated Hive Villages are added, though they are quite rare.
Q: How do you begin evolving in the Hive?
A: The path is surprisingly straightforward. First, craft a Lure Campfire and pack it with Flesh Blocks. Then ignite it with Flint and Steel, face the Queen in battle, and craft the Guide that marks the start of your ascent.
Q: Modpacks?

We have many plans and countless ideas for the future. How quickly they will be implemented depends not only on us — but also on you.
We appreciate any form of support, even just kind words (“Hang in there!”).
Your encouragement keeps our motivation strong. Thank you!

Biomorphosis server crashes on startup – what to do?

Biomorphosis officially supports neoforge for Minecraft 1.21.4, 1.21.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Biomorphosis – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Biomorphosis consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
