About this Mod

About
Blade Oil is species-based poison mod inspired by the Witcher game series. Using various ingredients players are able to create oils which when applied to a weapon, will do additional damage to specific mob types.
Oil recipes can be discovered by collecting various items such as plants and mob drops.
This mod requires NModUtils to function!
How to Use
- Craft an oil
- Pick up the oil with your cursor
- Right-click on the weapon with the oil

Configuration
Blade oil properties can be completely configured by editing: $MC_ROOT/config/bladeoil.json
Properties
- Damage - how much additional damage an oiled weapon does
- Quality - how many hits the effect will last before the weapon will need to be reoiled
- Amount - how many uses an oil bottle has before it is completely depleted.

- Basic Oil: 4 Damage (2 Hearts)
- Enhanced Oil: 8 Damage (4 Hearts)
- Superior Oil: 12 Damage (6 Hearts)
Hanged Man's Venom
- Basic Oil: 2 Damage (1 Hearts)
- Enhanced Oil: 4 Damage (2 Hearts)
- Superior Oil: 8 Damage (4 Hearts)

How to Install Blade Oil on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.11).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Blade Oil". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Blade Oil server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.11). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Blade Oil consumes the most tick time.
