About this Mod
Overview
The blasted barrens are a rare island variant, akin to mushroom islands (replacing them in colder areas). The biome is permeated by a thick gray haze, and ash particles drift from above. Blasted barrens are largely desolate, home exclusively to creepers and the occasional singed wildlife. It's harder for creepers to see through the haze, automatically reducing their detection radii within the biome.
Players may want to visit this biome for its relative abundance of gunpowder.
Entity Type Tags
By default, only vanilla creepers are included in these tags (as they're the only ones to spawn in the barrens naturally).
blasted_barrens:resizable: when Pehkui is installed, mobs added to this tag have a 12.5% chance to be up to 50% larger and 25% slower upon spawning in the blasted barrens.blasted_barrens:low_vision: mobs added to this tag have their vision reduced by about 80% in the barrens.- However, visibility is actually higher for mobs upscaled by Pehkui, so they will approach out of the fog from even farther away than usual.
Requires Blueprint. I strongly recommend installing Fog Looks Modern Now or Fog for the biome's "haze" effect. Includes optional compat for Pehkui, Clayworks, Upgrade Aquatic, Supplementaries, etc.
Credit for the original concept goes to Musicano and Snake Block! And special thanks to Musicano for providing block sprites.
Feel free to direct any suggestions to the issue tracker. Thank you!
(Currently, I suspect there may be some compat issues with Terralith and other mods/datapacks that add cold island biomes, but I haven't been able to check. Feedback is appreciated!)
