BuddycardsJS
A KubeJS addon mod for making custom Buddycards
About this Mod

What does this mod do?
BuddycardsJS is a KubeJS addon that adds support for creating Buddycards-style content through JSON and textures.
It is built to work alongside KubeJS and Buddycards, making it easier to define custom content without hardcoding every item manually.
With BuddycardsJS, you can create:
- custom sets
- custom cards
- custom packs
- binders
- booster boxes
- medals
- loot injections
This makes it useful for modpack developers, addon makers, and anyone who wants to expand Buddycards with data-driven content.
How to use it?
BuddycardsJS reads content files from your kubejs folder and generates the assets and data needed for your custom content to work in-game.
You create JSON files for things like:
- sets
- cards
- packs
- binders
- booster boxes
- medals
- loot injections
Then you add the required textures, launch the game, and BuddycardsJS handles the generated files from there.
In short:
- define content in JSON
- add textures
- let BuddycardsJS generate the rest
Installation Guide
BuddycardsJS requires the following mods:
Make sure all required mods are installed on the correct Minecraft and Forge version.
After installation, place your BuddycardsJS content files in your kubejs folder and launch the game.

BuddycardsJS server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong forge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is BuddycardsJS compatible with forge?
BuddycardsJS officially supports forge for Minecraft 1.20.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with BuddycardsJS – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if BuddycardsJS consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
