Capture of zones
This mod allows you to create points and capture them
About this Mod
ATTENTION: If you want to play with Lightman’s Currency, download version 2.2.6.4.
Newer or older versions may cause conflicts.
P.S. Relevant for version 0.1.7.

Capture zones add a simple team-based point-capturing mechanic to your world.
Players from the blue and red teams fight over zones; the progress changes while they are inside, returns to a neutral state when the zone is empty, and switches ownership if the other team captures it.
(Additionally) coin rewards integrate with the Lightman’s Currency mod if it is installed.
Features
- Capture Zones: Rectangular areas with adjustable size, height, and capture time.
- Team Detection: Scoreboard teams with names containing
blueorredare treated as Blue/Red; others are neutral (grey). - Client HUD: Animated capture progress; toggleable list of points with quick actions.
- Particles & Sound: Soft dust particles around zones and a capture SFX when a point flips.
- Admin Tools: OP-only creation, editing, deletion, and teleport-to-point.
- Optional Rewards: Automatic coin payouts to the owning team via Lightman's Currency.
- Config (Cloth Config): Toggle “Show all points on HUD”.
How it plays
- The admin must first create the teams using the vanilla commands /team add - the team names must include “Blue” or “Red”.
- Players from Blue/Red stand inside to push progress toward their side.
- If the zone is empty, the progress gradually returns to neutral. When a team fully captures the zone, ownership changes, a sound plays, and the zone’s icon color updates.
- (Optional) Every interval, the owning team receives coin rewards, which scale with the number of zones they currently control.

Capture of zones server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong forge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Capture of zones compatible with forge?
Capture of zones officially supports forge for Minecraft 1.20.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Capture of zones – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Capture of zones consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
