PLEASE READ

This mod is not actively being maintained, nor are there any plans to do so.

This is due to a variety of reasons, with the main ones being that the scope of the project is much bigger than anything I am capable of with my limited skillset and I lack the motivation and creative drive to keep working on this project specifically. This doesn't mean that I won't possibly work on it in the future, but don't expect any updates anytime soon. This also doesn't mean that I'm not going to keep making mods, as I'm working on other projects that I'm more interested in.

Thank you

Minecraft Forge NeoForge Fabric Quilt
1.20.1 Yes Yes* Yes Yes*

*There is no planned port being made. However, they should still work as long as NeoForge and Quilt support Forge and Fabric mods respectively.

This mod depends on Forge Config API Port and Forge Config Screens for Configs and Patchouli for in-game documentation!

THIS MOD IS IN EARLY DEVELOPMENT! THERE ARE BOUND TO BE SOME THINGS THAT ARE BROKEN, MISSING, AND MORE! PLEASE LEAVE FEEDBACK AND ISSUES ON THE GITHUB OR DISCORD!

About

CardCraft is a mod all about collecting Trading Cards. You can either show them off to your friends or community, or, in the future (check FAQ), use them in epic Duels! Each card features familiar faces from Minecraft along with many jokes and references (I'd be suprised if you got all of them)

Booster Packs are your primary way of gettings new cards, which can be found in Dungeon and Village chests. In the future, you can also trade cards with a Villager!

As always, installing JEI or equivalents will be the best way to view the items and recipes this mod offers

FAQ

Q: Where is the Duels Mechanic?

A: I am quite new to modding, and implementing something like that will take a significant amount of help and planning. That doesn't mean that there isn't some ideas, but until I can show something for it, don't expect it any time soon

Q: Where are the textures for the cards?

A: I'm no texture artist, so they are being left blank until I can either make something I'm happy with or get someone else to make them for me

Q: Can you port it to (insert version here) or (insert modloader here)?

A: Currently, the only version I will be supporting is 1.20.1 Forge and Fabric (with 1.21 versions coming at a later point). If I see fit, I will do my own backports to ensure quality and consistency

Q: Can you add (insert idea here)?

A: You can leave suggestions for the mod on my Discord

Q: Why is this a question?

A: Why not

Frequently Asked Questions

CardCraft server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is CardCraft compatible with fabric and forge and neoforge and quilt?

CardCraft officially supports fabric, forge, neoforge, quilt for Minecraft 1.20.1. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with CardCraft – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if CardCraft consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
