Having to stop mining because you are out of food is annoying. With this vanilla like mod a new plant will appear, the Cavern Root, which spawns in caves.

I ONLY MAINTAIN THE MOD FOR SOME MINECRAFT VERSIONS!
Adds the Cavern Root. A new plant that spawns in caves and functions as extra food for starving players. With this mod, you will never have to stop mining because you run out of food!
📖 Features
- Cavern Root. It generates naturally in most caves. Does not spawn in lush caves as the Glow Berries are enough for that biome.
- Twisted Cavern Root. Crafted from a single Cavern Root. It is edible and replenishes 3 hunger (1.5 chicken icons).
- Lumen Root. A mutated Cavern Root found below y = 0. It also emits light.

How to Install Cavern Root on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 4 GB RAM (6 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.8).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Cavern Root". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Cavern Root server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 4 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.8). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Cavern Root compatible with fabric?
Cavern Root officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.8, 1.21.7, 1.21.6. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Cavern Root – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 6 GB (per 5 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Cavern Root consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
