Decorative hanging chains and ropes (catenary curve) for Minecraft Forge.
Features
- Place a chain/rope between two points (2 clicks).
- Multiple sag presets: straight / light / medium / heavy.
- Optional attachments on both ends: pick any item/block (cost: 2x of the selected item/block).
- Segment decorations: right-click a segment with an item to hang 1x; Sneak + right-click with empty hand removes the decoration (or breaks the whole chain if there is none).
- Simple swing physics (reacts to touches / hits), toggleable.
- You can hang objects on chains and ropes (luminous objects will emit light).
How to use
- Hold the desired chain/rope item (check recipes via JEI/REI or the mod datapack).
- Right-click a block to set the first point.
- Right-click the second point to open the attachment menu.
- Confirm — the chain is placed and consumes 1 item.
Tips:
- Sneak + right-click (not a fence) clears the first point.
- Sneak + right-click a fence snaps to the fence post (with a small wrap around it).

How to Install Chains and ropes on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set forge Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the forge loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.8).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Chains and ropes". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Chains and ropes server crashes on startup – what to do?
