About this Mod

chathook

A logical server mod that forwards Minecraft chat, game and command messages to a Discord webhook.

How to Use

Create a file called secrets.txt in the root of your server (in the same folder as the server.jar.

In the file, write the following line:

webhook_url=[your webhook url here]

The webhook URL should be in the form of https://discord.com/api/webhooks/{some numbers}/{token}.

Now, just fire up the server and you're all set!

Known Limitations

Command messages aren't captured
Chat from Dynmap sends IP addresses in the text and these are not filtered by ChatHook (will be fixed by a message filtering feature in future)

How to Install ChatHook on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).

Set fabric Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.20.4).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "ChatHook". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

ChatHook server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.4). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
