About this Mod
Glide Enchantment
Turn any chestplate into an elytra. Glide Enchantment adds a single new enchantment — Glide — that gives chestplates the exact same flight mechanics as a vanilla elytra.
Features
- New enchantment: Glide — applies to any chestplate (iron, gold, diamond, netherite, leather, chainmail, turtle shell, and modded chest armor that supports enchantments).
- Identical to vanilla elytra — jump while falling to start gliding, hold space to glide, use firework rockets to boost forward. Same physics, same controls.
- Obtainable normally — appears in the enchanting table, on enchanted books from loot/trades, and can be applied via an anvil.
- Server-friendly — works on dedicated servers and singleplayer. No client-side requirements beyond having the mod installed.
How to get it
- Enchanting table — place a chestplate + lapis and look for Glide in the offered enchantments.
- Anvil — combine a chestplate with an enchanted book containing Glide.
- Creative / commands — give yourself an enchanted book directly:
/give @s enchanted_book[stored_enchantments={"glide_enchant:glide":1}]
How to use
- Enchant any chestplate with Glide.
- Equip the chestplate.
- Jump off something tall.
- Press jump again mid-air to start gliding.
- (Optional) Use a firework rocket while gliding to boost forward — exactly like a real elytra.
Compatibility
- Minecraft: 1.21.11
- Loader: Fabric
- Dependencies: Fabric API
- Side: required on both client and server (or just on the server for multiplayer; client-only also works in singleplayer)
Why?
Late-game elytras are gated behind the End. This enchantment lets you bring elytra-style movement to any chestplate you've already enchanted, so you can keep your favorite armor and still fly.
