About this Mod
Chest Warning Mod
A lightweight Fabric 1.21.11 mod designed for server administrators to prevent accidental griefing. It ensures every player receives a clear, one-time warning about stealing and server rules the first time they attempt to open a chest.
Features
- First-Interaction Warning: Intercepts the first time a player right-clicks a chest or trapped chest.
- Action Interruption: Automatically cancels the first chest-opening action so the player is forced to acknowledge the warning.
- Persistent Storage: Uses the Fabric Data Attachment API to ensure that once a player is warned, the status is saved permanently to their data file.
Installation
- Requirement: Minecraft 1.21.11 and the Fabric Loader.
- Dependencies: Ensure Fabric API is installed in your
/modsfolder. - Setup: Drop the
ChestWarningMod.jarinto your server or client/modsfolder.

ChestWarning server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.11). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is ChestWarning compatible with fabric?
ChestWarning officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.11. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with ChestWarning – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if ChestWarning consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
