About this Mod

The title of the project

Coat your swords and axes with potions to inflict effects on your enemies. Here are some of the key aspects of the datapack:

  • All default potions obtainable in survival mode are supported.
  • When a potion is applied to your weapon, the effect amplifier and duration will be based on the potion's tipped arrow.
  • The amount of uses varies between effect types, with instant or 1 minute long potion coated swords only having 8 uses, while the other effects have 32 uses.
  • You can remove a potion coat by applying a water, awkward, thick, or mundane potion to the weapon.

How to Coat a Weapon

In order to coat a weapon hold a potion in your offhand and a coatable item in your mainhand (axe or sword). Then, press your switch offhand button and the weapon will be coated.

Blacklist Effects

If you want certain potion effects to not be coatable onto blades, unzip the datapack and go to the following file path:

data>coatedbladesminecraft>item_modifier

In the item_modifer folder, you will see a .json file for every effect in the game and a blacklist folder. To blacklist an effect, simply drag the .json of the effect you want to blacklist into the blacklist folder.
