About this Mod

About

Combat Rebalance is a mod aimed around rebalancing some features of minecraft's combat, specifically hunger, ender pearls, tridents and maces.

All of the changes made by this mod can be tweaked and disabled through the config file.

Features

Hunger

Make healing more steady in combat rather than in bursts with food, making high saturation foods not as overpowered as they are. And changes eating time based on hunger and saturation given which gives a use to lower nutrition and saturation foods as quick food. Adds a cooldown to food based on effects given, preventing things like gap chugging.

  • Saturation is no longer used to regenerate quickly, and is instead now only relevant as a "pause" to hunger loss after eating.

  • Natural regeneration now uses hunger to heal every 40 ticks (2 seconds) rather than every 80 ticks (4 seconds).

  • The consumption of hunger by natural regeneration is 1:1 taking 1 to heal 1HP. This ignores the player's current saturation value, making it so hunger bars can be lost even if food was just consumed.

  • Natural regeneration now continues until a hunger level of 8 rather than the previous 18.

  • Changes eat time based on hunger and saturation given, 4 ticks per hunger and 2 ticks per saturation with a minimum of 10 ticks (0.5 seconds) and maximum of 40 ticks (2 seconds).

  • Adds a 5 tick (0.25 seconds) cooldown to eating all food.

  • Adds/Subtracts 20 ticks of cooldown per positive/negative effect level on a food.

  • (Disabled by Default) Saturation is no longer accumulated by eating multiple instances of food. Instead, saturation is set to the eaten food's saturation value, as long as said saturation value exceeds the player's current saturation.

  • (Disabled by Default) Re-enabling saturation healing the player.

  • (Disabled by Default) Disabling all hunger loss except healing based hunger loss.

Ender Pearls

Rebalances the Ender Pearl to not be as overpowered of a teleporting item as it is, making them less useful in combat with a risk to teleporting far away but still useful for travelling. Unfortunately these changes may break stasis chambers.

  • Ender pearls shatter when their owner takes damage after a 10 tick delay.
  • Increases cooldown to 160 ticks (8 seconds).

Tridents

Goal is for the trident to become a mid range combo weapon.
