About this Mod

A server-side mod for restricting the chat to people you've met.
When two players get close enough to each other (less than 16 blocks by default), they discover each others' contacts and can see chat messages from each other.

Commands

  • /contacts - Lists the players that can see your chat messages. Usable by anyone
  • /contacts <playername> - Shows the contacts of another player. Needs op (permission level 2)
  • /contacts add <player1> <player2> - Gives two players each others' contact information. Note that this does not send a message to those players. Needs OP (permission level 2)
  • /contacts remove <player1> <player2> - Removes two players' contact information from each other. Needs OP (permission level 4)
  • /killdante - Kills Dante (does nothing except send an ominous message to the person who used it)

Config

Config is at comms_array_uplink.json. Messages sent to players can also be configured at config/messages/comms_array.json.

  • discovery_range - The range that players discover contact information from. This is a box, not a sphere.

Compatibility

This mod uses Placeholder API and Message API.

This mod is compatible with Factions, but will likely break some parts of other mods that change the look of chat, such as Styled Chat.
