ComP
ComP is a mod that adds many Combat related features to change the flow of battles in Minecraft
About this Mod
What is it?
ComP, (short for Combat Plus) is a mod that began with a single thought "What if you didn't need a shield to block attacks" and then suddenly everything spiraled from there, ComP is here to do one single job, Make combat in Minecraft more interactive by adding more complex mechanics and foes to face.
How do I play?
The controls are simple.
- for Guarding, the unarmed version of blocking, it allows you to parry if you time it right leading to a regeneration of posture* and a huge damage boost if you attack soon after parrying.*
- Double tapping [S] to back dash, which allows you to breath when posture is low or when you're in desperate need of some food. this also restores your posture but at a much smaller amount then parrying. (I do not recommend changing this because that might ruin the feel of it)
- [C] for item ability (When it has it)
- [V] for armor-set ability (When it has it)
*posture: your main resource for active abilities abilities and defense.
*2 It is recommend you change the keybind for guarding to something you are more comfortable with.
Why would YOU want to play this?
I don't really have a good answer for this because it really depends on the player, personally I like how parrying feels, and I also just like how the mod as a whole changes the flow of combat entirely so long as you actively interact with the mods mechanics.

ComP server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong neoforge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.8). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is ComP compatible with neoforge?
ComP officially supports neoforge for Minecraft 1.21.8. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with ComP – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if ComP consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
