Compound Origins

Compound origins is an addon for the Origins mod that adds a multitude of mini-origins across several layers. Players can choose one mini-origin from each layer to assemble their own custom origin.
To assemble your own origin, choose "Custom origin" from the list of origins (in the vanilla origin layer).

The origins are designed such that ones in the same category are similar in strength and utility. Using a custom origin shouldn't make the game noticeably easier.
This addon was designed to be used together with Origins Classes, so it's highly recommended to use that addon as well.

Players choose one origin in each of the 5 categories (Folk, Affinity, Talent, Defect A, Defect B). Each Affinity also offers a choice between two different active abilities. Choosing no Talent allows a player to choose no Defect B.

    • Fire/lava immunity
    • Freeze in cold water
    • Freeze in the dark when in cold biomes
    • 1 of:
      • Incendiary fireball (active ability)
      • Lava spit (active ability)
  • Water
    • Water breathing
    • Normal block digging underwater
    • Damage in sunlight when outside water in hot biomes
    • Cannot extinguish fire by punching it
    • 1 of:
      • Freezing projectile (active ability)
      • Summon ice wall (active ability)
  • Earth
    • Pickaxe-like and shovel-like hand digging
    • Longer negative status effects
    • 1 of:
      • Stone projectiles (active ability)
      • Summon stone wall (active ability)
  • Air
    • Lightning immunity
    • Melee retaliation
    • Slowed and exhausted in water
    • 1 of:
      • Targeted lightning (active ability)
      • Push nearby foes away (active ability)
  • Nature
    • Can fertilise plants for free
    • Faster breaking of wood and plant blocks
    • Wither status effect prolonged
    • Greatly increased exhaustion when mining underground
    • 1 of:
      • Poison projectile (active ability)
      • Summon wall of roots (active ability)
• Talent:
  • Increased max health
  • Increased armour
  • Decreased food consumption
  • Increased regeneration
  • Slow passive health regeneration
  • Increased attack speed
  • Reduced knockback
  • Can eat grass and leaves
  • Faster affinity ability recharge
• Defect A:
  • Carnivore
  • Herbivore
  • Reduced max health
  • Reduced armour
  • Increased food consumption
  • Reduced regeneration
  • Reduced attack speed
  • Slower affinity ability recharge
• Defect B:
  • Reduced max health
  • Reduced armour
  • Increased food consumption
  • Reduced regeneration
  • Reduced attack speed

Orb of origins was given a recipe, making it possible to switch origins (can be disabled).
