About this Mod
Every so often... a Crimson Moon appears, accompanied by the howls of mobs across the lands. This is the continuation of Draylar's original Crimson Moon mod, ported to Minecraft 1.17+ and with the (in my opinion) superfluous items removed.
Crimson Moon is a mod based on the popular Blood Moon. Every 20 nights, a Crimson Moon will spawn, which is accompanied by an increase in mob spawn rates and more dangerous foes.
This mod was built for Fabric. Forge ports are theoretically possible, but I won't do it unless Cardinal Components and Satin API are also made available for Forge.
IMPORTANT: Draylar has updated his original mod now, so there's no reason for me to continue this fork! Please go there to receive versions compatible with new Minecraft releases.
Configuration
Crimson Moon has a number of config options which you can edit in config/crimsonmoon.json5. Each option has a comment that describes what it does.

How to Install Crimson Moon Revived on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.18.1).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Crimson Moon Revived". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Crimson Moon Revived server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.18.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Crimson Moon Revived compatible with fabric?
Crimson Moon Revived officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.18.1, 1.18, 1.17.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Crimson Moon Revived – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Crimson Moon Revived consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
