Custom Chest Menus is a mod for Minecraft that allows server owners to create custom chest menus with various functionalities.
This mod is designed to enhance the gameplay experience by providing interactive and customizable interfaces for players.
Features
Custom Chest Menus enables all server owners to create custom chest menus by writing it out in JSON files.
If you aren't good with how to write JSON, you can use this website to help build out a menu.
Player
- Open any menu with a single command:
/ccm open <menu_id>
Server owners
- Open any menu for a given player with a single command:
/ccm open <menu_id> [player](Requires permission level 2) - Create custom chest menus using JSON files
- Reload all menus in-game through a command
/ccm reload(Requires permission level 2) - Bind menus to any block or entity with
/ccm bind <menu_id, show a list with/ccm list-bindingsand show a visual overlay with/ccm bind-overlay, finally unbind any block or entity with/ccm unbind - Currently supported actions:
- Teleport to a location (also supports cross dimensions)
- Craft Items
- Run a command as player or server
- Placeholders:
%player%will be replaced with the player's name.%uuidwill be replaced with the player's UUID.

How to Install Custom Chest Menus on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (26.1.2).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Custom Chest Menus". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Custom Chest Menus server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (26.1.2). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Custom Chest Menus compatible with fabric and forge and neoforge?
Custom Chest Menus officially supports fabric, forge, neoforge for Minecraft 26.1.2, 26.1.1, 26.1. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Custom Chest Menus – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Custom Chest Menus consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
