Custom Chest Name
Still getting frustrated because you can't find things due to too many chests? Custom Chest Name offers you a solution to this problem: by simply naming your chests, you can quickly find sorted items.
How to rename
You only need to open the chest and click on the chest's name to start renaming. You can also rename it by sneaking and right-clicking the chest with a renamed name tag in hand (and it won't be consumed).
Compat
When the Jade mod is installed and Tooltips are enabled, Custom Chest Name will automatically disable the Tooltip to the right of the crosshair.
Config
You can change the display mode to one of the following options in the configuration:
- Never
- Always
- Not Default
- Is Crouching
- Is Crouching And Not Default

How to Install Custom Chest Name on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set forge Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the forge loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.1).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Custom Chest Name". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Custom Chest Name server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong forge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
