About this Mod

Daggercraft is intended to be a sort of overhaul experience inspired by my own and some friends' writing, with some elements from other things I like [Namely Protectrons, Mister Handys, and Battle Droids], and some decisions made based around the setting of Minecraft.

  • Adds a few new workbenches, some new villager professions, overhauls villager trades, and adds a lot of new entities to populate villages and make them more liveley and self-sustainable.

  • Completely overhauls the armor system, adds a bunch of new armors [early game AND late game], and adds in defenses against specific damage types.

  • Completely overhauls the weapons system, adds new weapons for early game and lategame, and adds, well daggers.

  • Adds races [which can be disabled via gamerule] that affect various things about how you play and can be switched using the Orb of Renewal.

  • Changes how various 'factions' work and adds new ones [The Void, The Light, The Imperials, Endarian, and a couple others], also adding instances of certain entities that are in different factions than normal [Village-alligned pillagers for example].

  • Adds Robots, some of which are craftable, some of which can become loyal to the player, and some of which are always part of a set faction. They can be modified to varying degrees depending on the type of robot.

  • Added a few redstone components [Automation Pusher and Automation Puller (Used for moving block entities), directional input block (a directional redstone component with some weird mechanics of its own), amemist comparator, (A block that checks if the block below it is powered and can check through transparent blocks)].

  • A surplus of new entities, some hostile, some neutral, and some passive.

  • Adds in a few new structures with their own loot and aesthetic.

  • Adds new consumable items and changes a few consumable items from vanilla are altered

This mod is planned to have a lot of customization via gamerules for an optimal experience. Some number gamerules exist to reduce lag.

Currently this mod is in an Alpha state and could be heavily bug ridden and any bugs should be reported.

There is a Discord server for feedback and documentation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Daggercraft server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong forge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Daggercraft compatible with forge?

Daggercraft officially supports forge for Minecraft 1.20.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Daggercraft – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Daggercraft consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
