About this Mod

Death Comp Mod

Description

Simple mod that uses the objectives ts_PlayTime and ts_Deaths (provided by the Vanilla Tweaks 'Track Raw Statistics' datapack) to list players in order of 'deaths per playtime'.

It does this by calculating the average deaths per hour played (using median average) and then orders players based on their delta to the expected number of deaths for their playtime.

Note that the objectives only track statistics from when the datapack was installed, they do not apply retrospectively.

Dependencies

  • fabric-api (required)
  • VanillaTweaks 'Track Raw Statistics' datapack (the mod will load ok without it but will do nothing)

Usage

Frequently Asked Questions

DeathComp server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is DeathComp compatible with fabric?

DeathComp officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21, 1.20.6, 1.20.5. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with DeathComp – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if DeathComp consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
