Livestock Overhaul: Scraps & Extras

LO:S&E is an addon mod to the original Livestock Overhaul and LO: Pets that includes previously scrapped and totally new extras to certain animals. The features included in this addon simply don’t fit into LO’s basic “no heavy maintenance” rules, and therefore, were placed within their own mod instead.

This mod requires the base Livestock Overhaul and Livestock Overhaul: Pets.

New Features:

Animal Welfare

Some animals now need to be cleaned, brushed, and/ or bathed in some manner on occasion. Some animals must be fed or have access to food (i.e. grass for grazing) else they may begin to starve.

Diseases & Ailments

Some animals can now come down with certain ailments. These could be injuries or illnesses related to their species. They can be treated with an assortment of cures. Ailments include minor injuries or illnesses such as saddle sores or fleas, or they may be major or even lethal, such as wound infections and rabies.

Genetic Traits

Horses and Dogs are now born with Traits. These traits can either be beneficial or harmful, depending on what it is. Traits can be inherited from parents, or occasionally acquired randomly. They often affect things such as speed, maximum health, jump strength, attack damage, immune system strength, and occasionally other stats. Each animal is born with up to one trait, of which could be good or bad.

Built-In Butchering System

Scraps comes with a built-in, simple butchering system. When an animal dies, it drops it's body, which can be processed with an axe for even more meat and materials. (Also natively compatible with TerraFirmaCraft!)

Miscellaneous Extras

• Other extras include things such as horse halters, spiked collars for dogs, and horse mannequins which can be used to display your tack.
• Animals now have longer growth times, dependent on their general species size.
  This mod also includes an ingame Livestock Welfare Guide, which acts like a Wiki. It is recommended to use it to figure out treatments and other mechanics.

Configuration

This mod is entirely configurable in the livestock-overhaul-extras-common.toml. You can toggle every feature and/ or change it to your liking.

This mod, along with the original Livestock Overhaul & Pets, may need a stronger server to run due to extended features. If you have a weaker server, please use with caution, or try disabling some unnecessary features in the config for better performance.
