About this Mod
Required and optional dependencies for the best experience:
This mod implements my vision for how Minecraft's food system should work:
- Damage cancels eating (except poison/fire/drowning etc.)
- Eating visual indication (see gallery)
- Combat foods: fast to eat, giving buffs, low saturation
- Sustain foods: are slow to eat but giving huge saturation
- Vanilla food hunger/saturation overhaul. Golden carrots are not universally best food now.
- Saturation cap: 30 (vanilla 20) [Configurable]
Starting with version 2.0, the mod has extensive customization options! You can modify the parameters for any vanilla food, or add support for modded food using its ID in the config/eating-pace.json config file. You can change whatever you want, including food hunger, saturation, consuming time or effects.
Enjoy!

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Eating Pace compatible with fabric?
Eating Pace officially supports fabric for Minecraft 1.21.1, 1.20.1, 1.19.2. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Eating Pace – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Eating Pace consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
