About this Mod
Ember & Ash
This is Ember & Ash, a small magic mod that i've been working on. It revolves around silver and magical tomes. Every magic item uses mana, which is visible in a bar on the main hud.
How to Play
Crafting
You need the "Inscribing Table" in order to make the scrolls/tomes in survival mode. There is a recipe button when you open its menu that lets you view the various recipes.
Progression
It depends on what class you go with, but this is the mage's progression.
- Get silver
- Make 2 empty spell tomes
- Make Inscriber
- Make water bucket
- Make Tome of Splashing
- Go to the nether
- Get blaze powder
- Make Tome of Flames
- Make lightning rod
- Make Tome of Plasma
- Get TNT
- Make Tome of Explosions
- Go to the end
- Beat Ender Dragon with Tome of Explosions or Regular weapons
- Get Enderite
- Find End Temple
- Fight Ender Cultist
- Farm Ender Cultist until Tome of the Cultists drops
- Find End City
- Farm shulkers to get shulker shells
- Craft shulker powder
- Make ender core
- Make Advanced Empty Spell Book
- Make Wrath of Zeus
- Get Radiant Gems
- Make Tome of Radiance
The progression isn't really finished yet, and I plan to add more bosses and items to get!

How to Install Ember & Ash on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set neoforge Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the neoforge loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.4).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Ember & Ash". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Ember & Ash server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong neoforge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.4). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Ember & Ash compatible with neoforge?
Ember & Ash officially supports neoforge for Minecraft 1.21.4, 1.21.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Ember & Ash – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Ember & Ash consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
