About this Mod

Important Information!

Ender Beds will be undergoing significant changes before I release version 2.0, which is planned to be either the next release, or the one after. I plan to have Ender Beds 2.0 compatible with Minecraft 26.2, however, due to not having as much time as I would like to work on this mod, it may will likely release nearer Minecraft 26.3's release date. If that is the case Because of this, 26.2 may be entirely skipped.
Nothing is yet set in stone.

The planned changes currently include:

  • NeoForge support*
  • Config file to set default values for game rules (useful for modpacks)
  • Reworking of the crafting recipe for Ender Beds due to
  • Removing Echo Dust and Ender Fabric

*I would like to support NeoForge, however, if doing so would add too great a maintenance burden, I may not.

If you would like to have your say on any of these matters, either hit up the issue tracker or send me an email at [email protected]. I will likely see the issues first, but will be periodically checking my inbox.

I'm very well aware that the textures in this mod are quite basic - I am no texture artist. If you are, and would like to submit your own textures, please don't hesitate to contribute!

The preferred way to do this is to create a Pull Request or an Issue. Alternatively, get in touch at [email protected].
Thanks! :D

What does the mod do?

When you sleep in an Ender Bed, your spawn is not set, and when you wake up you find yourself in the last bed you slept in (or your previous spawnpoint). Like when respawning, if you have no spawnpoint set or it is obstructed, you will be taken to the world spawn.

What does the mod add?

Echo Dust

Echo Dust's in-game texture

You craft two of these from one Echo Shard. They are used as an ingredient of Ender Fabric.

Ender Fabric

Ender Fabric's in-game texture

You craft three of these from two Echo Dust, one Eye of Ender, and one Black Wool. They are used as an ingredient of Ender Beds.

Ender Beds

A pixelated rendering of an Ender Bed, as it appears in a player's inventory.

You craft one of these as you would a regular bed, using Ender Fabric instead of wool.

Gamerules

The mod also adds a couple of gamerules to alter the behaviour of your Ender Beds:

  1. ender_beds:wake_behaviour
Determines what happens when you wake up from an Ender Bed.
It can be set to the following values:
    • DO_NOTHING - This is the default behaviour. When an Ender Bed is slept in, you will wake up at your spawn point and nothing else will happen.
    • DESTROY_BED - This will destroy the Ender Bed when you wake up. It will not drop an item.
    • RETURN_ITEM_TO_PLAYER - This will break the Ender Bed and give it back to the player when they wake.
  2. ender_beds:endermite_spawn_chance
Determines the percentage chance that sleeping in an Ender Bed will spawn an Endermite when you wake up. By default, this is set to 5%, the same as using an Ender Pearl.
It can be set to any integer (whole number) between 0 (never spawn an Endermite) and 100 (always spawn an Endermite).
