Entity Observer

Entity Observer

This project adds two new blocks. The Entity observer and the Player observer. The Entity observer gives a redstone signal if a entity is in front of it. The Player observer is the same, but for players.

About this Mod

Entity Observer

The Entity Observer mod is a mod that adds two blocks. The Entity Observer and the Player Observer.

Functionality

The functionality of these two blocks is very simple. If the target identity stands in front of the observer block, the observer block will output a signal, and the strength is dependant of how far away the identity is. For example, if a entity is standing 6 blocks away, the Entity Observer block will output a signal strength of 9. That is because the further you are from the sensor, the weaker the output will be.

Naming

The naming of the observers is also very simple. The Entity Observer will detect entities and players and the Player Observer will only detect players.

Usecases

This makes the blocks useful for

  • traps
  • doors
  • farms
  • alarms
  • hidden entrances
  • minigames
  • other redstone contraptions.
