About this Mod

Entity Block

A screenshot of an Entity Block on the ground.

The Entity Block is a datapack/mod creation tool that makes adding entities to structures easier.

Entity blocks can be placed in custom structures to represent an entity,
similarly to how Structure Voids represent a block that should not be replaced.

When a structure with an entity block is saved, the entity block itself is not saved into the resulting nbt file.
Instead, an entity and the block specified in the 'Turns Into' field is saved instead.
This makes the structures usable in mods and datapacks without needing to have this mod as a dependency.

This allows for placing entities into structures without always having consistent NBT data,
and without needing to worry about entities moving around the structure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Entity Block server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 4 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.11). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Entity Block compatible with fabric and quilt?

Entity Block officially supports fabric, quilt for Minecraft 1.21.11, 1.21.10, 1.21.9. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Entity Block – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 6 GB (per 5 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Entity Block consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
