About this Mod
Epileson
Epileson is a mod that adds an end themed upgrade for Chainmail Armor, Epileson, derived from Epilogue and Gambeson.
The armor provides the same protection value as Chainmail but has armor toughness and reduces velocity based damage.
Works Well with Origins!
The mod is designed for Origins, to give something in place of Elytra for Origins such as the Elytrian origin, but can still be played without Origins.
How to obtain Epileson and what to do with it?
Epileson has two parts to it, the Epileson Upgrade Smithing Template, and the Epileson Sheet.
The Epileson Upgrade Smithing Template has a mild chance to spawn in any End City chest loot.

The Epileson Sheet can be crafted with any Chainmail Armor piece and an Epileson Upgrade Smithing Template to create a respective Epileson Armor piece.

How to Install Epileson on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.20.6).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Epileson". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Epileson server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.6). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Epileson compatible with fabric and forge and neoforge and quilt?
Epileson officially supports fabric, forge, neoforge, quilt for Minecraft 1.20.6, 1.20.5, 1.20.4. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Epileson – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Epileson consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
