This pack adds Trims for Elytra, Wolf Armor and Horse Armor.

⚙️ Compatibility

I haven't tested it with any other Data pack, I'll be sure to add an incompatibility list further down the line if there are any. If you encounter any issues, you can report them to me on PMC or CurseForge.

📜 Roadmap

Some things I want to add, thinking about adding or is already in progress:

More Materials that feel like they could work in Vanilla. (as vanilla as it can get, with Data and Resource packs of course)
Tool and Weapon trims for every type of Trim.
Anything related to trimming, open for ideas

✅ Recommendations

If you cannot wait for Trimmable Weapons and Tools, I suggest using Trimmable Tools by Apollo. The (for now?) mod version even achieves what I am planning to do with this Data pack!

How to Install Extended Trimming on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).

Set datapack Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the datapack loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.3).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Extended Trimming". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Frequently Asked Questions

Extended Trimming server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong datapack version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.3). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Extended Trimming compatible with datapack and fabric and quilt?

Extended Trimming officially supports datapack, fabric, quilt for Minecraft 1.21.3, 1.21.2, 1.21.2-rc2. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Extended Trimming – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Extended Trimming consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
