About this Mod
Extra Journeys
Extra Journeys is a Fabric mod focused on enhancing exploration by adding simple, immersive tools that help players travel, navigate, and mark important locations during long journeys.
Instead of teleportation or minimaps, the mod introduces physical items and blocks that integrate naturally into vanilla gameplay and reward players who explore the world on foot.
Current Features (Alpha)
Wayfarer’s Feather
An exploration-themed item designed to support long-distance travel. This item serves as a core component for future progression and travel-related mechanics.
Traveler’s Compass
A special compass item intended for navigation during exploration. Unlike the vanilla compass, this item is designed to interact with exploration mechanics added by the mod and will later be expanded to guide players toward discovered locations or landmarks.
Bound Journal
A journal item used to record journeys and discoveries. In future versions, this item will store information about visited locations and biomes, allowing players to keep track of where they have been.
Trail Marker
A placeable block used to visually mark paths, camps, or important locations in the world. Trail Markers allow players to leave physical signs of their journey without relying on maps or external tools.
Surveyor’s Stone
A utility block that acts as a planning and exploration anchor. This block is intended to be used alongside other exploration items and will serve as a central interaction point for future features.
Gameplay Impact
Extra Journeys encourages players to:
Travel long distances instead of teleporting
Mark and remember important locations
Create physical trails and landmarks in the world
Engage with exploration in a slower, more immersive way
The mod fits naturally into survival gameplay and is designed to feel like a vanilla expansion rather than a replacement of existing mechanics.
