Adds player-run market structures and tycoon groups for buying/selling items — for factory and automation modpacks.
How to Get Started
- Craft a Market Compass (surround a normal compass with iron bars) to locate the nearest market structure.
- Explore to find a generated market building.
- Enter the structure and use the computer (behind the iron door) to:
- Create your own tycoon
- Join an existing one
- Manage members
- Look at tycoon balance leaderboard.
Key Features
- Market Structures spawn with random types — each type buys and sells different items.
- Customizable economy — edit item values, add/remove items, or create entirely new market types via config. It's recommended to set processed/complex goods higher than their raw recipe costs to reward factories and processing chains.
- Flexible structure integration — add the
market interfaceblock plus input/output hatches to any custom structure; it will randomize its market type on spawn. Remember to add the structure names to the config so the Market Compass can find them. - JEI & Jade support when looking at recipes for a item it shows markets its available in.
- Alpha / Planned showing markets items that can be sold in jei. working on player markets for selling items only.
Configuration Tips
- Add your own structure names to the config so the Market Compass can find them.
- Set processed/complex goods higher than their raw recipe costs to reward factories and processing chains.
Made for modpacks with Create, Industrial Foregoing, Mekanism, or any heavy automation/industry focus.

Factory Tycoon officially supports forge for Minecraft 1.20.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Factory Tycoon – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Factory Tycoon consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
