About this Mod

Fai's Mythical Monstrosities

A Cobblemon addon with folklore inspired Fakemon, strange moon events, rituals, new forms, and a bit of weird magic.!

It adds Fakemon, forms, lunar evolutions, signature moves, abilities, items, blocks, and a few event systems. A lot of the mod is tied to moon events, which can affect spawns, evolutions, the world, and some battles.!

The mod is still in alpha, so bugs and changes are expected. Things may be reworked, balanced, renamed, or expanded as I keep working on it. <3

Information

Core Event Systems

Lunar Events

The mod currently has three lunar events:

Blood Moon
Blue Moon
Harvest Moon

They only start at night by using Stardais. Only one lunar event can be active in a world at a time, and their timing/cooldowns can be changed in the config.

Blood Moon

Effects

The Blood Moon turns the sky crimson, changes the moon, adds red spore particles, and brings out special Blood Moon spawns.

While it is active, some wild spawns can have better shiny odds, certain evolutions become possible, and eligible defeated species can drop Blood Moon loot like bloodstone, gemstones, and related items.

Cobblemon battles can also detect bloodmoon weather during the event.

Blue Moon

Effects

The Blue Moon adds Blue Moon battle weather and gives nearby players water-themed buffs like Night Vision, Dolphin's Grace, faster swimming, and sometimes Conduit Power in rain.

Aquatic mobs can get Water Breathing, fish or glow squid may appear near water, and light frost can show up on grass at night.

It also adds Cobblemon bonuses like extra shiny rolls, friendship boosts, and special spawn chances.

Special: Can be called by Selyn.

Harvest Moon

Effects

The Harvest Moon helps crops grow around players, including Cobblemon berries and apricorns. It also keeps nearby farmland hydrated.

Players can get small support effects, mobs and Pokemon may drop extra harvest loot, and defeating enemies can sometimes give short Regeneration.

Bonus drops can include crops, apricorns, berries, and other farming items.

Shared Lunar Rules

Only one lunar event can be active at once.

Events only happen at night and end when their timer runs out or daytime starts.

Cooldowns scale based on how many players are online.

Event state is saved per world and synced to clients.

Abilities

Thaumaturgy

Signature of: Thaumatoad

This Pokemon's moves ignore opposing Ability effects. It also cannot be statused, flinched, or Taunted.

Predator

Signature of: Harpivoir

Damaging hits mark the target as prey. The next damaging hit on that marked target is boosted to 1.5x power.

The mark goes away after the boosted hit, or when the target switches out.

Face Collector

Signature of: Bloodsplitter

Bloodsplitter starts battle with a face active. While the face is active, the first damaging move that hits it does 0 damage.

After Bloodsplitter gets a KO, the face is restored.

Duelist's Dance

Signature of: Chrysopierce

Gives its attacks a very high crit stage. The crit damage is custom-tuned so it stays more controlled.

Deathblossom

Signature of: Blossom Phantump line

If it is at full HP, it survives a fatal hit at 1 HP. The attacker is then put to Sleep and seeded with Leech Seed.

Essence Reforge

Signature of: Tinkaton Draconic

Physical attacks target Special Defense instead of Defense. KOs on Dragon or Fairy targets give Speed boosts.

Abyssal Elegy

Signature of: Milotic Bloodmoon

This Pokemon's attacks always hit. Incoming sound-based moves fail against it.

Celestial

Signature of: Unown Zodiacs

Doubles Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed while active.

Moonmaiden Edict

Signature of: Selyn

On switch in, sets Blue Moon weather if it is not already active.

Oompy Goompy

Signature of: Lootoad

Cancels the effect of opposing stat boosts while Lootoad is active.

If hit by a contact move while it has no held item, it steals the attacker's held item.

Moves

Helios Blade

Signature of: Chrysopierce

A 2-hit priority Fire move. Each hit has a small chance to burn, paralyze, or flinch.

After using it, the user drops its own Defense and Special Defense by 1 stage.

Gigaton Excalibur

Signature of: Tinkaton Draconic

A 160 base power Dragon attack that ignores Fairy immunity.

It cannot be used twice in a row.

Bloodcall

Learned by: Blood Moon forms

Dreadcurrent

Signature of: Milotic Bloodmoon

A 75 base power Special Water move that traps the target in a current for 3 turns.

While the current is active, it deals damage and heals the user by that amount.

Bog Omen

Signature of: Thaumatoad

Applies a 3-turn seal. While sealed, the target's Ability is suppressed, priority moves are blocked, and stat boost attempts fail.

Umbral Flurry

Signature of: Harpivoir

A 3-hit priority Dark move that only works on the user's first active turn.

Hits after the first are weaker.

Blue Moon Edict

Learned by: Blue Moon forms

Sets Blue Moon weather in battle.

Azure Decree

Signature of: Selyn

A 20 base power Special Water move.

If the user is holding Blue Gemstone, the damage is heavily boosted. During Blue Moon weather, it also gives the user +1 Attack and +1 Special Attack after use.

Rolly Polly

Signature of: Lootoad

A 95 base power Physical Ground move that needs a held item to use.

On hit, the held item is used up. The move's power and extra effect depend on the item.

Examples of item outcomes:

Life Orb: chips the user and gives an Attack boost.
Assault Vest / Eviolite: gives a Defense boost.
Leftovers / Black Sludge: heals the user.
