Flappy Wings
Debuff the Elytra by replacing its functionality with a Double Jump

About this Mod
Ever thought the Elytra was too overpowered? Or just wanted an incentive to use alternative transportation methods? Then this might be the mod for you!
Flappy Wings replaces the behaviour of the Elytra from gliding to double jumping!
It features a completely fresh Elytra Flap mechanic, triggered by pressing space, replacing the gliding offered by vanilla. This feature is complete with new sounds, particles, and tons of config options to customise the mod's behaviour to your liking.
Hot Tip
This mod can also easily be used to disable the Elytra altogether by changing the server config. This can be configured per dimension, so it's possible to, for example, keep the gliding mechanic only in The End.

As well as expanding on your current speed, the Elytra flap boost also gives you a boost in the direction you're looking, for easy and responsive traversal.
The amount of vertical and horizontal boost also vary depending on your speed before boosting, creating a dynamic system where the boost responds to how you're moving through the air.
Warning
This mod can be dangerously fun to hop around with, and might cause distraction from projects. Use with caution.
Triggering an Elytra flap boost also ensures that the fall damage from hitting the ground afterwards takes the boost into account, such that you will never take fall damage from any height gained by the boost.
This makes sure it's relatively safe to use and your toes stay intact.
The total config options to customise this mod with include:
- Horizontal and vertical boost amounts
- Whether fall damage is mitigated
- What dimensions to be able to glide in
- Whether to enable dynamic boosts
- Cooldown duration between boosts
Hot Tip
By default, using the Elytra to glide is still possible in the End, but this is fully configurable per dimension, including modded dimensions!

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Flappy Wings consumes the most tick time.
