How To Use

  1. Start flying in creative mode (or survival flight if enabled in settings).
  2. Activate boost with your selected mode:
    Hold mode: hold sprint.
    Toggle mode: press sprint once to turn boost on, press again to turn it off.
    Always mode: boost is active any time you are flying.

Server Policy (Opt-Out + Limit)

Flyspeed uses a server policy handshake for multiplayer:

  • If a server has Flyspeed installed, it can allow/disable boost and set a max multiplier.

Server owners can edit config/flyspeed-server.json:

{
  "allowMovementBoost": true,
  "maxMultiplier": 20.0
}
  • Set "allowMovementBoost": false to disable boost entirely.
  • Set "maxMultiplier" to cap client boost (range 1.0 to 20.0).
  • Restart server after editing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Flyspeed server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (26.2). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Flyspeed compatible with fabric?

Flyspeed officially supports fabric for Minecraft 26.2, 26.1.2, 26.1.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Flyspeed – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Flyspeed consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
