About this Mod

REQUIRES GECKOLIB IN ORDER TO WORK

Thanks for checking out the mod!

Foes! is a mod focused on adding lesser enemies to the game. You can use this mod in modpacks or play it on its own. I do recommend pairing it with JEI (Just Enough Items) so you won't get lost, as the content is kinda segregated in these first versions. You can also help yourself with the hints down below.

As of now, this is rather a proof of concept, not a full mod, but more content will come with future updates, solidifying the mod's presence in the game.

Features in v0.2:

8 Foes

  • Faker (Spawns in Plains, Forests, and similar biomes.)
  • Duppy (Spawns in lush biomes like Swamps or Jungles.)
  • Spectre (You'll find it deep into the world. Actually, it will find you.)
  • Hyppoterra (Spawns in Nether Wastes and Basalt Deltas)
  • Abruptor (It spawns in desert and badlands biomes at night.)
  • Blizard (Spawns in Windswept and Stony biomes.)
  • John Hellspawn (Spawns in Nether Wastes and the Soul Sand Valley.)
  • Frostbite (Spawns in every vanilla snowy biome at night except for the Snowy Taiga.)

7 Active Items

  • Grace (Dropped rarely by any mob. Heals user by one heart up to 12 times)
  • Gust (Vertical dash)
  • Fly High (Horizontal dash)
  • Bombs Away! (Almost Kamikaze)
  • TeleOrb (Switches places with target)
  • Repteye (Provides brief Night Vision)
  • Resurgence ("Safety net" against lava pits)

1 Passive Item

  • Fiendish Amulet (Prevents Countdown, a negative effect.)

10 Weapons

  • Bouncing Branch (Allows bouncing off blocks. Does more damage if user is airborne)
  • Fiendish Faux (Deals more damage to mobs with negative effects. Has a withering ranged attack)
  • Fang Lance (Deals more damage when user is at full HP. Killing a mob grants Bloodthirst [lifesteal] )
  • XPunisher (Damage and Cooldown based on XP level. Consumes 1 XP level when used)
  • Heavy Hitter (Knocks target upwards. Self repairs when obliterating airborne mobs)
  • Pellet Carver (Shotgun-like weapon that destroys blocks and mobs in bursts)
  • Andesite Club (Whacks entities into the ground)
  • Diorite Mu-Gun (Shoots cocoa beans)
  • Abruptor Thorn (Throws electric charges)
  • Cryo Claw (Shoots freezing projectiles. Melee has knockback)

1 Armor Piece

  • Blizard Wings (Glides down. Needs cooldown)

Foes explained (Spoilers!)

Faker

Faker, in its true form

Fakers disguise themselves as cows. They may reveal themselves if you hit or kill the decoy. Fakers are a menace in the early game. They have 30 HP, hit hard, and run fast. They drop mystery meat and bones upon death. Noticing the differences in fake cows is the key to deal with them.

Duppy

Duppy, a duplicating bug

Duppies are small bugs. They are frail with a measely 6 HP. However, any time they attack, they dupe themselves as the name would suggest. The last duppy of a group will leave a Duppy Tail upon death. And no, they don't drop XP.

Spectre

Spectre, a sinister mister

When taking actions in deepslate caves you may catch the Countdown effect. You can't get rid of it by any means. When the Countdown ends, the Spectre will appear. However, if you get to daylight in time, the effect will do nothing. The Spectre takes flight with a withering range attack, a nasty melee and a fat 70 HP. Once its health gets to 35 HP, it drops to the ground, leaping at the target to lifesteal its way back into its prior form. It drops Fiendish Fillet and Fiendish Fangs.

Hyppoterra

Hyppoterra, an absolute unit of the Nether

Hyppoterra is a tanky foe, boasting 60 HP and great armor. Its jaws are crushing, so stay clear of its mouth. When hurt, it may fire a lava bomb, creating lava source upon landing. When a Hyppoterra touches lava or fire, it goes into a speedy frenzy that usually follows with a player casualty, so make sure it doesn't stumble across its own shots. It drops Heavy Coal upon death. It can be soothed with Frosty Melons.

Abruptor

Abruptor, desperate to fry something

The hide of an unknown animal reanimated by pure electric charge. It'll rush down and shoot at any player it sees with a zapping projectile. Using water against it is quite dangerous because of this. Drops leather and Abruptor Thorns.

Blizard

Blizard, the gliding reptile

They can knock players back with their inflatable sacks. They're frail. If pushed off a tall cliff they will glide to safety. They drop Blizard Scales and the Repteye if you're lucky.

John Hellspawn

Evil incarnate

These abominations leave a trail of fire and have an attack reach similar to a player's. They can drop cooked chicken, feathers, or Resurgence upon death. They also can be soothed with cooked rabbit.

Frostbite

Not everything is as it seems

This mysterious creature will shoot freezing projectiles as it approaches, but if it gets too close to the player it might switch forms to melee. It drops the Cryo Claw.

Elusive Foes?

Most Foes have a rare Elusive variant (Like shinies). These are neutral and have a noticeable texture change so you can collect them more easily if you wish. No more hints...

Duppy and Elusive Duppy, side by side

Foes with Elusive variants: Faker, Duppy, Hyppoterra, Hellspawn.

You can use this mod in your non-paid modpacks. You may not distribute this mod in other platforms.
