Gathering Storm

Thunderstorms are now more involved.
Randomly when not sheltered, players may get a new effect, the gathering storm effect.
Particles will appear around affected entities and once the effect runs out, lightning will strike unprepared targets.

When applied this way, a play can play around the effect and use it at their advantage by unequipping all piece of conductive armor (chainmail, iron or netherite) before the effect runs out to be unharmed by the ligthning strike, or even redirect it to nearby mobs.

The perfect weapon for anyone wishing to wield the storm.

A little weaker than a diamond sword in damage, it makes it up by summoning lightning on your foes.

Holding the right click will smite entities around the player and apply a stronger gathering storm effect.
This effect will always strike true and can be enhanced by hitting the target with a thunderlance. Each level increasing the final lightning bolt's damage.

In addition, every three hits against a gathering storm affected entity will smite them directly.
Briefly pressing the right click button will instantly trigger the final lightning strike on all entities with 4 or more levels of the effect.

Finally, the thunderlance is available in 3 versions, each being identical save for their targeting.

• Cerulean thunderlances will target all entities.
• Verdant thunderlances will target players and hostile mobs.
• Crimson thunderlances will only target hostile mobs.

The thunderlance comes with 4 unique enchantment.

• Conductive: each hit against a gathering storm affected entity will extend the duration of that effect by a short amount
• Thunderstorm: reduces the initial delay of the right click ability to one second and reduces the applied gathering storm effect duration to 5 seconds
• Lightning bolt: while channeling the right click ability, run as fast as lightning
• Sky monarch: while channeling the right click ability, reach for the sky and levitate for a few seconds

Sky monarch and Lightning bolt are mutually exclusive.

All these enchantments can be found in the enchanting table, and all sword enchantments can be applied to the lance.
