What does it do?

The GIF Explosions mod renders the iconic explosion GIF and sound at the position of any player or mob when they die.

Does it work in Multiplayer?

Yes, the mod runs entirely client-side and uses the client’s view of entity health and death.
However, it does partially rely on standard vanilla packets sent from the server (like entity updates).

GIF Explosions Mod + Server Anti-Cheats?

This mod is fully client-side and does not send any packets to the server. It won’t get you banned unless the mod itself is blacklisted.

1. The mod’s functionality could break on certain servers if anti-cheat systems spoof both the health and death state of entities. This can delay or hide entity deaths from the client, which would prevent the effect from triggering.
The mod uses a lightweight algorithm that tracks entities locally with minimal reliance on server packet accuracy.

2. The mod has been tested on some popular servers and did in fact work.

How to Install GIF Explosions! on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).

Set forge Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the forge loader and matching Minecraft version (1.8.9).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "GIF Explosions!". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.
