Where did Great Big World go?

I was unsatisfied with how the project was turning- particularly because you can only create a certain kind of experience by adding new features to the game. I want to create a unique experience for players, which requires looking at every aspect of vanilla, tweaking or removing features that don't fit within my vision. Great Big World has been moved here. It is now a complete overhaul mod (also called an "alternate timeline" mod) for modern Minecraft. Check it out, because many features from the old mod will eventually be added there!

There's a whole world out there to explore.

Great Big World is an adventure & world generation mod that currently adds the Aspen Forest, Moose, Swamp Pyramid, Wooden Masks, Tropical Islands, Nautilus, & Lighthouses to the game, along with some other features.

### In 1.0:

Aspen Forests are cold biomes that generate near Taigas and regular forests. They also have a Snowy counterpart, which generates near Snowy Taigas.

Moose are a new tameable mob that is easily angerable. They will turn on you if you cause them harm. However, if you manage to tame & ride one, they are quite powerful! Moose are also a great source of meat.

Glimmering Mushrooms generate in Caves & Mega Taigas. They will change color and light level based on the time of day, or if they are underground. Brewing them will yield Darkness, Blindness, or Glowing Potions. They can be further brewed into Aura Potions!

Mahogany Trees are tropical trees that generate in Jungles to provide a little more diversity.

Bamboo Torches are a new Torch variant that can be placed on Leaves. Great for natural looking builds!

Swamp Pyramids are an ancient structure generating in Mangrove Swamps, guarded by Thickets and traps!

Thickets are a new monster which must be disturbed to activate.

Wooden Masks are a new helmet item which can be enchanted with two unique enchantments instead of Aqua Affinity & Respiration.

Cobblestone Bricks are a new decorative block that make up Swamp Pyarmids. They can be crafted with 4 Cobblestone.

### In 1.2:

Lighthouses are a new structure located in Stony Shores. They contain the new Stained Calcite blocks as well as some loot.

Tropical Islands are a rare new island biome that takes the place of Mushroom Islands in warmer temperatures. They consist of Beaches, Jungles, Volcanic Peaks, and sometimes Mangrove Swamps.

Acai Trees are a new tree found in Jungles, Mangrove Swamps, and Island Jungles. Acai Berries, a new food source, grow on the side of their trunks.

The Nautilus is a new ocean mob that gets scared of others. If killed, it drops a Nautilus Shell, but it can also be transported away via Bucket in order to speed up Copper oxidation!

Beachgrass is a new vegetation found in Beach biomes.

Thatch is a new highly flammable decorative block crafted using either Beachgrass, Grass, or Bamboo.

Backports? Forge? Backports most likely will not happen. I am one guy with only so much time on his hands. Great Big World will be updated for the latest version of Minecraft. I am interested in porting to Forge in the future, but don't expect that to happen any time soon.
