VGT Expansion
Addon to gregtech classic adding gt4 content and making the progression a bit harder.
About this Mod
Warning: This mod is currently in early beta, and not 100% finished or finalized (especially the very end game)! If you encounter anything that points to it, please let me know over on GitHub.
VGT Expansion is a port/rewrite of gt4 and somewhat 2 using IC2 Classic and Vintage Gregtech as dependencies and a base. My goal is to port gt4 but not in the incomplete state greg left it in, which means there won't be 10 million different useless materials and items for example. Since this is a gt4 port, it therefore moderately changes some recipes to make them harder or force them through certain machines. That said, it also adds a couple misc nice things like more batteries and more fuel types from oil, as well as 4 crops. Currently this is actually very close to gt4 featureset, I'm currently working on implementng pipes, and then I might implement steam machines once the pipes are done, though a bit better then gt4 did them, I'm not really sure that I'll do the redstone blocks, depends on what I want to do after pipes and other stuff on my plate are done.

VGT Expansion server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong forge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.12.2). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is VGT Expansion compatible with forge?
VGT Expansion officially supports forge for Minecraft 1.12.2. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with VGT Expansion – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if VGT Expansion consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
