About this Mod

Hallow's Eve is my mod submission for the MCreative Discord Server's Halloween 2023 Modjam.

It will continue getting updates before and after the Modjam ends.

Items:
Nightmare Fuel: looks like shi-
Relic: ...

Biomes:
Pumpkin Patch: An orange, pumpkin infested landscape, a curse has befallen this land that takes away your creative abilities.

Cornfield: A land filled completely with corn, the same curse has befallen this land, luckily the corn generates outside the field.

Bosses:
none... yet

Events/Minigames
Harvest: A raid-like event that occurs near midnight in the pumpkin patch biome, when a player eats a pumpkin pie during a full moon. Zombies, Skeletons, Spiders, and(for now) Ravagers spawn in waves. There are 30 waves in total.

Corn maze: A randomly generated maze holding 3 relics, finding all 3 grants you your freedom, else you shall starve here.

How to Install Hallows-Eve on Your Server

Order Server

Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).

Set forge Loader

In the panel under "Egg", select the forge loader and matching Minecraft version (1.20.1).

Install Mod

Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Hallows-Eve". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Hallows-Eve server crashes on startup – what to do?

Most common cause: wrong forge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Is Hallows-Eve compatible with forge?

Hallows-Eve officially supports forge for Minecraft 1.20.1, 1.18.2. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.

Server lagging with Hallows-Eve – how to optimize performance?

Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Hallows-Eve consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
