This is a simple mod made to make obtaining elytras harder.

Why?

I think many of us would agree that the Elytra is pretty OP, and they're quite easy to obtain once you get good at the game. You just have to beat the Ender Dragon (which isn't that hard), and then just run around and suddenly you have an Elytra!

For some people this is too easy, and for me this meant that me and my friends had an Elytra Within the first day that we opened a new server. So i decided to fix it!

How?

The first way elytras are harder to obtain is by making the recipe for Eyes of Ender a little harder. It still not too hard, but it slows the process of getting to the end a bit.

The main way elytras are harder to obtain are that elytras in end ships are replaced by a new item called an elytra core. This item can be used to craft an elytra, but you will need some additional resources (the recipe can be found in gallery along with the eye of ender recipe).

Q&A

Q: Is it just serverside (e.g. can i use it on a server without users having to install the mod)?

A: No, because the mod adds an item, both the client and the server has to have it installed. If you want to add it to a server without the user installing anyting you can find the datapack version here.

Q: Can i change the recipes?

A: Yes, by making a datapack.

The recipes are located under data/harder-elytras/recipe/elytra.json and data/minecraft/recipe/ender_eye.json.
For making the recipes i recommend using TheDestruc7i0n's crafting recipe generator.
