Harder Totems
Makes Totems of Undying 2.5x harder to obtain.
About this Mod
Vanilla Totems of Undying are incredibly powerful, yet obtaining them often boils down to creating a simple raid farm et voila! infinite lives.
Harder Totems completely reimagines this progression loop, transforming totems from cheap, farmable commodities into rewarding, multi-tiered artifacts that require actual effort, crafting, and ritual to create.
Key Features
Evoker (Re)Balancing
Where right now (in vanilla) the Evoker drops the totem immediately, using this mod the Evoker drops their Accursed Emerald, a manifestation of their power. You need to cure 2 of these to make the eyes of a totem giving it some of its magic.
The Evoker's dark curses can only be exhausted from magic of your own in an Enchanting Table.
Interactive In-World Carving:
Instead of simply placing recipes in the basic crafting grid, you are able to interact and carve your plate into a totem directly in the world environment using your off-hand.
This has a unique animation displaying the progress of carving eventually rotating to reveal the item much like the vanilla totem pop animation.
Netherite Totem of Undying:
A new more powerful tier of totem allowing you to cheat death 3 times before it breaks.
Using the advanced metal you can extend the cured emeralds power: for the price of 2 standard totems you create the equivalent of 3 while being contained to 1 slot.
New Advancements:
Branching from the monsters hunted achievement a new achievement tree is visible allowing for easier information in how to progress while also relocating vanilla advancements to match the new Pillager advancement tree.
Fully Configurable
Harder Totems allow the user to pick how modded the game feels natively in ModMenu (some changes require either the world to be restarted or to use the /reload command)
Carving Mode
If you aren't a fan of having to spend time manually using your shears fo carve the gold and netherite plates you can disable it in favour of using a crafting grid for instant conversion - it does still drain durability though.
Netherite Totems
If you only wanted to have a simple mod to change how totems are obtained this is best for you.
This setting can be disabled to completely block any netherite totem-related items being crafted.
EMI
There are a few options available for EMI if downloaded to make the information easier on the eyes.
