About this Mod
Horratic is a story-driven psychological horror mod built around one question: what does it actually feel like when things get bad?
You play through eight stages — Denial, Intrusion, Descent, Defiance, Unraveling, Despair, Revelation, and finally a choice. The horror isn't about casual jump scares. It's a journal that writes itself as you fall apart. It's a book of letters you started but never sent. It's a reflection of yourself that knows everything about you.
The Willpower system tracks how you're doing. It drops in the dark, under pressure, when you're hungry and alone. It recovers through light, rest, food, and the things that actually help. Gold is your best friend — but something else likes gold too...
Content Warning
This mod contains themes of depression, isolation, emotional withdrawal, and the experience of not being able to ask for help. It is an allegory, not a clinical portrayal — but it draws from real feelings and is intended to be felt, not just survived.
This is a serious topic and is portrayed heavily in this mod. It is meant to be an emotional horror focusing on real world problems. If this topic offends you, please avoid this mod.

Horratic server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong neoforge version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.1). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Horratic compatible with neoforge?
Horratic officially supports neoforge for Minecraft 1.21.1. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Horratic – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Horratic consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge. With Mado Hosting, your server runs on NVMe SSDs with dedicated CPU cores for minimal latency.
