About this Mod
Hunger Overhaul Reborn is a survival rebalance mod focused on hunger, food, crops, tools, and animals.

This mod is in early alpha and has only been minimally tested. Bugs are guaranteed—please report them if you find any.
This is my first published mod since the old META-INF days!
Features
- passive hunger use
- Food fully rebalanced with Well Fed and Hungry status effects.
- Stackable container foods - Bowl foods, honey bottles, and milk buckets now stack (configurable stack sizes)
- Difficulty-based crop growth - Growth rates scale with world difficulty:
- Peaceful: 100% (full vanilla speed)
- Easy: 67% of vanilla speed
- Normal: 50% of vanilla speed
- Hard: 34% of vanilla speed
- Crops
- Serene Seasons integration - Respects seasonal fertility and growth rates
- Grows only in daylight.
- Right-click harvest automatically replants.
- Breaking crops drops only planted seeds.
- Hoes
- Dirt near water tills normally.
- Grass without water converts to dirt with a 20% chance to drop seeds.
- Tall grass no longer drops seeds.
- Bone meal scaling – success chance depends on difficulty.
- Animals – breeding and growth are slower.
- Hunger if you run out of hunger, you die.

How to Install Hunger Overhaul Reborn on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set fabric Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the fabric loader and matching Minecraft version (1.20.6).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Hunger Overhaul Reborn". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Hunger Overhaul Reborn server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong fabric version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.20.6). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.
Is Hunger Overhaul Reborn compatible with fabric and forge and neoforge?
Hunger Overhaul Reborn officially supports fabric, forge, neoforge for Minecraft 1.20.6, 1.20.5, 1.20.4. Note: Forge and Fabric mods are NOT cross-compatible – pick one loader and stick with it. The Mado dashboard automatically detects incompatible loader combinations.
Server lagging with Hunger Overhaul Reborn – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Hunger Overhaul Reborn consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
