Overview
The Hungr datapack significantly increases Minecraft's difficulty by introducing new survival mechanics, hunger-based effects, and hostile world events.
Features
- Beds Regenerate Health at a Cost: Sleeping restores health but also inflicts hunger.
- Stronger Night Mobs: Hostile mobs gain strength at night and even more during blood moons.
- Undead Horsemen: Rarely, undead mobs summon lightning and spawn mounted zombie horsemen.
- Dynamic RandomTickSpeed: The tick speed increases during rain, affecting crop growth and other random events.
- Blood Moon Events: Blood moons grant hostile mobs extra strength and speed, while players gain night vision.
- Hunger-Based Attributes: Player abilities change based on hunger level, with special effects for starving, undernourished, and well-nourished states.
- Animal Defense: Farm animals retaliate when attacked, dealing damage and fleeing.
- Iron Smelting Disabled in Furnaces: Iron cannot be smelted in regular furnaces, increasing resource scarcity.

Installation
- Download the datapack.
- Place the datapack folder in your world’s

- Manage your hunger carefully and adapt to new threats.

How to Install Hungr on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 3 GB RAM (4 GB recommended).
Set datapack Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the datapack loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.9).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Hungr". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.

Hungr server crashes on startup – what to do?
Most common cause: wrong datapack version or insufficient RAM. Check the server log (latest.log) for "OutOfMemoryError" or "Mixin" errors. With Mado Hosting: ensure at least 3 GB RAM is allocated and the loader matches the mod version (1.21.9). You can switch loaders with one click in the panel.

Server lagging with Hungr – how to optimize performance?
Recommended RAM: 4 GB (per 8 players). Use /spark profiler to check if Hungr consumes the most tick time. Common fixes: reduce server view-distance to 8-10, install "performant" or "starlight" as supplementary mods on Forge.
