DragonCare
Concept
DragonCare Addon is an unofficial expansion for the Ice and Fire CE mod on NeoForge. The primary purpose of this project is to introduce alternative, non-lethal mechanics for interacting with dragons, allowing players to build relationships and gather resources without killing them.
Features
Bonding
- Pacification: Wild dragons can be pacified using Exceptional Dragon Meal instead of traditional combat.
- Affection Levels: Feeding and caring for dragons increases their Affection Level (from 1 to 5).
- Passive Buffs: As affection levels increase, dragons receive persistent status effects:
- Level 1: Resistance I
- Level 2: Resistance I, Regeneration I
- Level 3: Resistance II, Regeneration I, Strength I
- Level 4: Resistance III, Regeneration II, Strength II, +5% Max HP
- Level 5: Resistance IV, Regeneration III, Strength III, +10% Max HP
Harvesting
- Diamond Syringe: Allows players to extract dragon blood safely from alive dragons.
- Obsidian-Diamond Shears: Used to harvest dragon scales without killing the dragon.
- Dragon Painkiller: A consumable item that protects dragons during shearing or blood extraction, preventing trust reduction and temporarily increasing their toughness.
Tracking
- Interactive Interface: A handheld item that opens a GUI listing all tamed and befriended dragons.
- Sorting: The dragon list can be sorted by name, growth stage, or distance.
- Target Highlighting: Allows selecting a specific dragon to highlight their position dynamically in the world.
Dragon Dirt & QTE Brush
- Tamed dragons: Gradually get dirty over time (5 progressive stages). Craft a Dragon Brush (120 durability) to clean them through an interactive, real-time QTE mini-game with lag-compensated input protection. Utilizing real-time pixel alpha-blending, the mod dynamically generates over 600 unique visual variations based on dirt stage, color, and age with zero performance impact thanks to client-side caching. The
easy_minigameconfig simplifies hit-zones by 1.5x or bypasses the QTE entirely for low-level dirt.
Dragon Fruit
- Agriculture: Plant seeds on farmland, nurture them through various growth stages, and harvest fresh dragon fruits.
- Affection Boost: Feeding this fruit to a dragon yields +6 Affection and completely bypasses the standard 10-minute feeding cooldown.
- Custom Textures: The custom textures for the fully grown fruit block and its stem were designed by artist LadaVesta.
Ash
- Ash Poisoning: Players standing near ash blocks progressively accumulate an "Ash Poisoning" debuff.
- Ash Sensor: A tool designed to scan air quality, offering manual and automatic modes accompanied by Geiger-like audio indicators.
- Mysterious Tablets: Consumable item used to cure the Ash Poisoning debuff.
Worldgen
- Structures: Spawns ruined hunter outposts and Hunters' Guild buildings in the world.
- Loot: Contains custom bounty books, chests, and readable Hunter Diaries that detail background lore.

How to Install Ice And Fire: Dragon Care on Your Server
Order Server
Order a Minecraft Java server with at least 4 GB RAM (6 GB recommended).
Set forge Loader
In the panel under "Egg", select the forge loader and matching Minecraft version (1.21.1).
Install Mod
Open the mod browser in the dashboard and search for "Ice And Fire: Dragon Care". Click "Install" – done! Alternatively, upload the .jar via SFTP to the /mods folder.
